POLISH ANIMATED FILMS AT THE IMAGINARIA FESTIVAL

In the second half of the month starts the new edition of the Imaginaria Film Festival. Polish animated films are invited to the competition sections at this festival.

The Imaginaria Film Festival is held in the beautiful medieval Italian town Conversano. It is the first and so far the only international animated film festival in the region. The organisers combine family atmosphere with professionalism and high artistic quality of the selected films. There is not only the open-air cinema in store for the viewers but also exhibitions, workshops and meetings.  In addition to animated film screenings, there will be a place for the fans of illustrations and comic books.

The most important and the most interesting things in the programme are the competition sections. Polish films will be shown in two of them.  Two Polish films are invited to the best professional short animated films competition: "The Rain" by Piotr Milczarek and "The Hunt" by Mateusz Jarmulski.

In turn, the following films have a chance to win the best student animated film award at the festival: "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska,  "Bless You!" by Paulina Ziółkowska and the film "Do Not Touch," by the Czech director Pavel Endrie, made in the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz.

The Imaginaria Film Festival is held from the 19th of August to the 24th of August.

You can find more information about the festival on its official website.
