ANIMATED FILM FESTIVALS IN DECEMBER

The last month of the year has begun. In December, Polish animated films will be present, among others, at the festivals held in Brazil, Slovenia and Turkey.

Three festivals inaugurating the December list started in November. At the festivals in Georgia and in Turkey, the film "Woolen Cogwheels" by Bartosz Kędzierski will be shown. The film will also be shown in Bulgaria.

The most popular film shown at the festivals this month will be "A Documentary Film" by Marcin Podolec. It started its festival journey in France, at Poitiers Film Festival, where, together with "Domestication" by Sylwia Gaweł, it competes for the award in the competition. At the same time, the film will be shown at the festival in Tbilisi. A moment later, the viewers will watch it in the competition screenings at the festivals in Bangladesh and in Colombia, where the animated film "Beside Oneself" by Karolina Specht is also qualified for the competition.

"Pussy," directed by Renata Gąsiorowska, was very successful at the festivals in November. In December, the participants of the festivals in Romania (Cinemaiubit) and Slovenia (Animateka) will have a chance to watch it.

The aforementioned Animateka is one of the most interesting animated film festivals held in Central Europe. In spite of its short history, every year the festival shows the most important animated films made by film-makers from around the world. Polish films are shown annually in the programme of the festival, both in the competition sections and in the special screenings, which accompany them. During this year's edition, as many as 11 Polish films will be shown, including 6 in competition screenings. The festival lasts from December 5 to 11.

The last festival event of the month will be the participation of the film "Sto(ne)s" by Marcin Giżycki in the experimental film competition at The Vision Fest in New Zealand.
