"EVERYTHING FLOWS" INVITED TO THE SPECIAL PROGRAMME "BEST OF THE WORLD"

The animated film "Everything flows" by Edyta Turczanik was invited to the special programme "Best of the World" and it will be shown in Japan during the 16th International Animation Festival Hiroshima.

The International Animation Festival Hiroshima is held every two years since 1985 and its aim is to promote international cultural exchange through the development of the art of animation. Today, this event is considered one of the most highly-regarded animated film festivals in the world. This year, the festival is held from 18 to 22 August.

"Everything flows" by Edyta Turczanik is a short film about passing of time. It is made using the classic painter's technique on thousands of pieces of paper and celluloid. The film image is created by expressive visual layer and intensive soundtrack. The poetic character of the film is emphasised by the atmospheric music by the band Kroke, as well as the hypnotising ticking of the clock. The film's producer is Stowarzyszenie Twórców Filmu Animowanego Eksperymentalnego i Video STUDIO A. The film was co-financed by Polish Film Institute.

Edyta Turczanik is a director and scriptwriter of animated films. She graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where she studied at Animated Film Studio. In her animated films, she examines the principles of functioning of memories, she also touches upon the matter of passing of time and the relation between humans and nature. She primarily uses classic animation techniques, which she combines with spatial animation and photography.
