“PATHS OF HATE” PROVES THE BEST ANIMATION AT SLIFF

On Sunday, 20th November the 20th edition of American St. Louis International Film Festival came to an end. Damian Nenow found himself among the winners receiving the award for the Best Short Animation for his “Paths of Hate” that screened at the festival.

For the last twenty years St. Louis Film Festival has been screening annually the best of cutting-edge features and shorts from around the globe. This year’s competition presented 35 features, 62 documentaries and 76 shorts. Two short animations that were accepted to this group – the winning “Paths of hate” and “Gallery” by Robert Proch, were the only Polish representatives in the competition. Between 10th and 20th November the festival featured more than 400 films - among them many award-winners  that celebrated their premiere screening in St. Louis.

“Paths of hate” produced by Platige Image is a short tale of beasts, which lie dormant deep in the human souls and push them into the abyss of blind hatred, rage and anger. Chasm that leads to the inevitable destruction and annihilation. This is what Damian Nenow says about his film: In the sea of comprehensive, grim and existential animations I wanted to place a film that would be made primarily for audience’s entertainment - both spectacular and visually attractive. On the other hand I wanted "Paths of Hate" to be more than just another show off displaying only technical capabilities, full of fighting robots or trolls.
