DUMAŁA'S ANIMATION SCORES ANOTHER AWARD

It was last week when another festival award went to "Hippos" directed by Piotr Dumała. Polish animation was aclaimed by the jury of the Chilean Fesancor festival held between 19-25 October in Santiago de Chile.

This year the 23rd edition of the Fesancord festival was held. The programme featured more than 90 films, including 57 titiled screened as a part of the international competition. Every year the festival is accompanied by the film market where the festival guests can watch films in videolibrary and visit stands of film related companies and organisations. Fesancord is held every year in Chilean Cinematheque. 

On October 25th and the last day of the festival "Hippos" by Piotr Dumała received the award for the best foreign animation. On giving the award to Dumała's film the jury stated the following: Apart from great skills of using the cinematic language, Dumała in his film manages to transform a brutal conflict of powers into a picture of a poetic dimension. 

It is the 19th award for the film by Dumała. "Hippos" are produced by Warsaw based Fumi Studio. 

This year during the Fesancor festival the films from 48 countries were screened. Apart from Dumała's film also a Polish "Three Kings" by Anna Błaszczyk screened as a part of the competition.
