BEST SHORT FILMS OF T-MOBILE NEW HORIZONS IFF

The winners of the short film competition of this year’s T-mobile New Horizons are announced! On Sunday evening the international jury announced the verdict and decided to award films directed by Grzegorz Zariczny, Marcin Filipowicz and Marta Szymańska.

This year 69 short films - produced at film schools and independently – were featured in the competition. For the first time ever films were watched and rated by the international jury consisting of:Florian Weghorn (coodirector of Generation at Barlinale), Ed Lawrenson ( English journalist ) and Anna MacDonald (director of London Film Academy, that also gave away additional award in frames of the very same competition). “The Whistle” by Grzegorz Zariczny (produced as a part of “First documentary” programme by Munk Studio) proved the best among all the documentaries.  Marcin Filipowicz – the student of Radio and Tv Department of Silesian University received the award for the best fiction in recognition of his narrative “Echo” while the best animation award went to “Oranges” directed by Marta Szymańska (production: Polish National Film School in Łódź). The special award – a scholarship for the specialist course at London Academy was handed over to Michał Szcześniak – an author of documentary “Sashka, Sashka”.


The 12th edition of T-Mobile New Horizons IFF was held between 19th and 29th July in Wrocław.
