POLISH PRESENCE AT THE FESTIVAL AND MARKET IN CLERMONT-FERRAND

This year's edition of the Clermont-Ferrand festival will run from 28 January to 5 February. The festival and the accompanying market are held in a hybrid form. The latest Polish short film productions will be promoted by the Polish Shorts delegation participating in the fair, which includes representatives of the most important film institutions in Poland. The animated films Five Minutes Older by Sara Szymańska and the co-production Once There Was A Sea… by Joanna Kożuch will be presented in the international competition. Andrzej Jobczyk's Airborne and Julia Siuda's Fury will also be competing for awards.

The Clermont-Ferrand festival and the accompanying market are the largest short film event of its kind in the world. This year due to the pandemic situation, and like many other festivals, the event returns in hybrid form. 

The Polish Shorts delegation, coordinated by the Krakow Film Foundation, includes representatives from Studio Munka - SFP, New Europe Film Sales (online), KFF Sales & Promotion, Krakow Film Festival, Short Waves festival, Krakow Animation Center, and  the directors of the competitive films.  Accredited guests of the festival will have the opportunity to learn more about the activities of all of the above organisations during the Polish Shorts Meets & Greet presentation which will take place at the Polish booth on Tuesday, February 2, at 12:00.

This year, two Polish animations are featured in the festival's international competition. Five Minutes Older by Sara Szymańska and Joanna Kożuch's Polish-Slovak co-production Once There Was a Sea…. In turn, Julia Siuda's Fury will be presented in the LAB competition while Airborne by Andrzej Jobczyk will get its chance at Young Audience Eco. 

What's more, the program includes as many as 89 Polish short films, including 12 titles available directly from the Polish Shorts tab: Beasts Among Us by Natalia Durszewicz, Toothless by Andrea Guizar, Crumbs of Life by Katarzyna Miechowicz, The Visit by Mateusz Jarmulski, Light Years by Monika Proba, Headfish by Jakub Prysak, Love in Times of Coal-Based Economy by Tomasz Siwiński, 98 kg by Izabela Plucińska, Prince in a Pastry Shop by Katarzyna Agopsowicz, Liberty by Joanna Różniak, Slave by Grzegorz Piekarski, and Five Days of Fear by Bartłomiej Żmuda. 

The co-production forum Euro Connection will also be held during the industry fair part. This year, one of the projects presented there will be Nawojka Wierzbowska's I Am Not Here Anymore. The animation is produced at the Krakow Film Klaster.

The Polish Shorts delegation and the presence of Polish films at the festival and Market is prepared and coordinated by the Krakow Film Foundation with financial backing from the Polish Film Institute.
