The Polish co-production directed by Jan Bubeniček and Denisa Grimmova was appreciated at the International Film Festival Kids Kino, which ended this weekend.

The International Film Festival Kids Kino and Kids Kino Industry are film events aimed at the youngest viewers and filmmakers creating films for children and adolescents. The events' rich program includes live-action films, documentaries, animated films, and series. There is an industry segment held in parallel to film screenings, which includes discussion panels, meetings with creators, and pitch sessions where filmmakers from around the world share their ideas. The festival is organised by the Education Department of the New Horizons Association.

A special mention went to the Czech-French-Slovak-Polish co-production “Even Mice Belong in Heaven” directed by Jan Bubeniček and Denisa Grimmova. This animated feature tells the story of two mortal enemies – the little mouse Whizzy and Whitebelly the fox who, as a result of an unfortunate accident, meet in animal heaven. Both protagonists lose their natural instincts and become best friends over time. Together they set off on a journey not only to find the mouse's Dad, but most of all to find themselves and face their own weaknesses. The film “Even Mice Belong in Heaven” is about hope, love, and courage. It is a story of friendship that seems impossible.
