"OH, MOTHER!" NOMINATED FOR THE EUROPEAN ANIMATION AWARDS!

Last Monday the list of nominees for the Emile Awards has been announced. Among the nominated films there is a Polish animation ”Oh Mother!” by Paulina Ziòłkowska. This year the awards will be handed out for the first time.

“Oh Mother!” by Paulina Ziółkowska is among three films nominated in the best student animation category. The other two films are Italian animation ”Merlot” directed by Marta Gennari and Giulia Martinelli and Russian production ”Pro Mamu” by Dina Velikovskaya.

Ziółkowska's animation is a story of a relationship between an overprotective mother and her son. It is a playful game of constant changes of social and family roles. The film tries to answer the question who is truly an adult and what does it mean.

The film's producers are Fumi Studio and Lódź Film School.

Paulina Ziółkowska was born in 1988 in Wrocław. In 2007 she began art history studies at University of Wrocław. In 2008 she began graphic design at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and in 2011 animation at the Łódź Film School.

The names of the winners will be announced on December 8th 2017 during the official ceremony in the French city of Lille.
