"MONUMENT" IN THE COMPETITION AT THE FESTIVAL ANN ARBOR

At this year's festival Ann Arbor, the film "Monument" by Marcin Giżycki will be present.

Ann Arbor is one of the three oldest festivals held in the United States, and the oldest American experimental film festival. Famous people who showed their films at the festival include, among others, Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono and Kenneth Anger. Since 1964, a touring edition of the festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival Tour, is also held. This year's edition of the festival lasts from March 21 to 26.

In the main competition of this year's festival Ann Arbor, there is the experimental animated film by Marcin Giżycki, "Monument." The film shows the secret life of the monumental sculptures, designed by Jerzy Januszczkiewicz for the Soviet Military Cemetery in Warsaw.

Marcin Giżycki is a director, a film historian, the author of books about animated films and the director of the International Animated Film Festival Animator.
