The heat is so oppressive that even the electronics begin to overheat. A power short occurs in a travelling amusement park. The rides grind to a halt, the lights go out, the hubbub falls silent. Only strange sounds can be heard coming from a rubbish bin. It is a toy radio that wittily comments on the world around it, revealing the romantic entanglements of bored employees and exposing the inner emptiness of the fairground’s visitors. The temporary power outage offers a brief respite and a chance to take a closer look at the everyday life of a place that never stops.
