THE LATEST FILM BY MARIUSZ WILCZYŃSKI AT THE BERLINALE

The first feature-length production by one of the most important Polish animated film-makers will have its premiere screening in the competition section Encounters at the upcoming festival in Berlin.

Encounters is the new competition section at the Berlin festival.  Its originators aim to support new, more diverse and experimental voices in the cinema.  The three-person jury will select winners in three categories: the best film, the best director and the special award.

This year, 15 films are invited to the competition, among them, there is the latest animated film by Mariusz Wilczyński. "Kill it and leave this town"  is an autobiographical impression, reminiscence of the images from childhood, in which the memory of the deceased parents and the home city, Lodz, is brought to life.  A team of talented animated film-makers is working on the film together with Wilczyński: Agata Gorządek, Jakub Wroński, Marta Pajek, Agnieszka Borowa, Marta Magnuska, Joanna Jasińska-Koronkiewicz, Paweł Walicki, Kacper Czyczyło, Agnieszka Konarska and Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi. The music for the film was composed by Tadeusz Nalepa.

The 70th edition of the Berlinale starts on the 20th of February and lasts until the 1st of March.
