ANIMATED FILM FESTIVALS IN APRIL

The fresh spring breeze brings new festivals and chances for awards for Polish animated film-makers.

As it is the case every month, "Pussy" by Renata Gąsiorowska can count on a lot of screenings. The animated film will appear, among others, at Werkspoorkathedraal Festival in the Netherlands, at Granda’s Young Filmmakers Festival in Spain, at London Porn Film Festival in Great Britain and at Monstrale International Short Film Festival in Germany. There, apart from "Pussy," there is a large representation of Polish animated film: "Foreign Body" by Marta Magnuska, "Beside Oneself" and "Don't Lose Your Head" by Karolina Specht, "Fences" by Natalia Krawczuk, "The Baths" by Tomasz Ducki and "Lost Senses" by Marcin Wasilewski.

In April, three screenings await "Impossible Figures and Other Stories II" by Marta Pajek, all of them in Germany. The animated film will be shown at the Cellu l'art Short Film Festival, the Filmfest Dresden and at Trickfilm in Stuttgart. At Trickfilm, "Guest" by Aleksander Józefczyk, "Fugue For Cello, Trumpet and Landscape" and "Tuning the Instruments" by Jerzy Kucia will also appear. In Dresden, "Chainlets" by Alicja Błaszczyńska and "Debut" by Katarzyna Kijek will be shown. The animated film by Katarzyna Kijek is also invited to the Tripoli Film Festival in Lebanon and to the Kyiv ISFF in Ukraine.
