"PETER & THE WOLF" ABOARD THE PLANES OF TURKISH AIRLINES

The project Picture Poland, the aim of which is to promote Polish cinema among the passengers of airlines, widens its reach. Polish films are already available for the passengers of Turkish Airlines on all routes serviced by this carrier. The Academy Award winner animated film "Peter & the Wolf," directed by Suzie Templeton, is on the list of the films.

This puppet animation is the largest co-production in the history of Polish animation for many years. Shooting the film, on the large set built in the halls of Lodz Film Centre and Se-ma-for, took over 8 months. The production team had over one hundred twenty members. The film was made in co-production between Se-ma-for Produkcja Filmowa with the British company Break Thru Peter, in co-operation with the Norwegian studio Storm and with financial participation of the television Channel Four. In Poland, the funding was provided by Polish Film Institute. In Poland, the puppets were made, as well as the sets, cinematography and digital image processing. "Peter & the Wolf" is a film based on music fairy tale by Sergei Prokofiev, which in an incredibly clear and sincere way, talks about the most important matters: about the power of friendship and human kindness, which is above everything. The tale's protagonist is Peter, a shy boy who is forced to face the brutal world of adults. The challenge issued by fate makes Peter overcome his own weaknesses, which enables him to enter the next stage of growing-up - forgiving.
