POLISH FILMS AT SLAMDANCE

It's shaping up to be an absolutely unique edition of the American festival. Its program includes a total of seven Polish films. From narrative films, through animated ones and documentaries, to an interactive experience.

Slamdance Film Festival is one of the world's largest independent film festivals. It has been organized since 1995 in Park City, Utah. It was established by a group of subversive filmmakers whose films were not accepted into Sundance's program. They felt the need to show their films, so they put together their own festival with the motto “from filmmakers to filmmakers”. During its twenty years of history, the festival has paved the way to fame for directors such as Christopher Nolan, Marc Forster, Jared Hess, Oren Peli, Benh Zeitlin, Seth Gordon, Lynn Shelton, and Lena Dunham.

Slamdance's selectors fell in love with Polish productions. A total of seven films have made their way into the program. These include Krzysztof Kasior's feature-length documentary Fury, Damian Kocur's short Beyond is the Day, the animated shorts I'm Here by Julia Orlik, Crumbs of Life by Katarzyna Miechowicz, and Plantarium by Tomasz Ducki, as well as Tomasz Stankiewicz's interactive Maharaja's Children. Brave Bunch in India. Dawid Nickel's feature film will also be competing for awards.

The festival is scheduled to take place on 20-30 January 2022.
