POLISH ANIMATED FILMS AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN AUGUST

The summer vacation is already half over but the festival season is in full swing. Polish animations will be shown at numerous festivals, mainly in Europe. We will be present in Italy, France, Denmark, and Belgium. Be sure to check out where our short productions will be showing in August.

The MoliseCinema Film Festival will begin in Italy in early August. Its program includes We Have One Heart” by Katarzyna Warzecha. This animated documentary will also be presented at the end of August at FILMKUNSTFEST MV in Germany.

The Kyiv International Short Film Festival will begin at the same time as the Italian event. Tomek Popakul's “The Moon” will be competing for prizes in the Ukrainian capital. This isn't the only festival where we will see this animation. It will be screened at the Concorto Film Festival in the second half of the month. Renata Gąsiorowska's “Home in a Shell” was also invited to its competition. In turn, the animator's previous film, “Pussy” will be seen by viewers of the Chinese My Film Ideology.

During the 36th edition of the ALPINALE Kurzfilmfestival | Short Film Festival, the jury might award “Plantarium” by Tomek Ducki.

Three Polish animations will be shown during special screenings during Israel's Animix – Tel Aviv Animation Festival. Its audience will get to see “Tango of Longing” by Marta Szymańska, “I'm Here” by Julia Orlik, and “Portrait of Suzanne” by Izabela Plucińska.

We will see a large representation of Polish productions at Imaginaria International Animated Film Festival in Italy. Its competitions includes “Prince in a Pastry Shop” by Katarzyna Agopsowicz, “My Fat Arse and I” by Yelyzaveta Pysmak, “I'm Here” by Julia Orlik, „We Hope You Won't Need To Come Back” by Anastasia Naumenko. On the other hand, Paweł Prewencki's “Beach” and Weronika Kuc's “Beautiful” will be screened out of competition.

The end of the month is looking quite packed with the Brussels Short Film Festival showing "I'm Here" by Julia Orlik, the Silhouette Film Festival with a competition screening of "Acid Rain" by Tomek Popakul, and the Danish OFF – Odense International Film Festival, where the animation "Co-ognition" by Przemysław Świda will have a chance to win awards.
