POLISH ANIMATIONS AT AUGUST INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN AUGUST

It’s the summer holidays, so the festival season is in full swing! Despite the pandemic, many events will take place, albeit in a slightly changed form. Many of them will also feature Polish animations. Check out which August festivals you will be able to see our productions.

Several important festivals began at the end of July. Two of our films were shown at the Italian Animaphix International Animated Film Festival - "Colaholic" by Marcin Podolec and "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska, at the Romanian Transilvania International Film Festival you can also see "Acid Rain" by Tomek Popakul and the Almagro International Film Festival in Spain will showcase "Story" by Jola Bańkowska and "You Are Overreacting” by Karina Paciorkowska.

At the beginning of August, the 38th edition of the Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival will start, where "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska will compete for awards. At the same time, the first screenings of the Kyiv International Short Film Festival will take place in Ukraine. One of the festival films there is "Story" by Jola Bańkowska. The animation was also invited to the Italian competition La Guarimba, where it will compete with Barbara Rupik's "Little Soul".

The turpist animation will have an extremely intense month, the audience will have a chance to watch it, among others at the American Florida Film Festival, the Korean Busan International Short Film Festival, the Danish OFF - Odense International Film Festival, the Brazilian Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival or the Japanese International Animation Festival in Japan - HIROSHIMA, where Natalia Durszewicz's "Ovule" will also be screened, and "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska.

Durszewicz's film was also included in the Anibar International Animation Festival competition. "Acid Rain" by Tomek Popakul and "Guilt" by Marcjanna Urbańska will also compete for awards in Kosovo, alongside “Ovule”. Also, three Polish films will be featured in the program of the Italian Imaginaria International Animated Film Festival. "Such a Beautiful Town" by Marta Koch, "Portrait of a Woman" by Natalia Durszewicz and "Aquarium" by Jagoda Czarnowska.

Dokufest will be held in the first half of the month. The film festival hosted in Kosovo will showcase "Windows Of That House" by Urszula Domańska.

Two Polish animations were included in the programs of the Kyiv International Film Festival «Molodist», the International Animation Festival Fest Anča and the ONE Country ONE Film International Festival. At the Ukrainian event, the audience will see "Such A Beautiful Town" by Marta Koch and "The Little Soul" by Barbara Rupik. The latter title will also have a chance to be awarded at Fest Ance, where "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska was also invited. During the last festival, you will be able to see "Story" by Jola Bańkowska and "Red Light Train". This month, animation by Alicja Kot will also be screened in Mexico during the Monterrey International Film Festival, and “Story” will go to Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Sarajevo Film Festival.
