POLISH CO-PRODUCTION NOMINATED FOR THE EURIMAGES CO-PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT AWARD

The French-Luxembourgian-Polish animation directed by Nadia Nakhlé had made it to the list of nine projects nominated for the Euroimages Co-Production Development awards. The winners will be announced on March 9.

Euroimages Co-Production Development Awards joined their forces with Cartoon to present the animated films awards. The €20,000 prize was invented to promote the fund's role in encouraging to take up international co-production from the early stages of developing a project.

One of such projects is the full-length animation Birds Don't Look Back made by Nadia Nakhlé and produced by the French Special Touch Studios & Creative Touch Studios, Luxembourg's Paul Thiltges Distributions and the Polish Animoon studio.

The protagonist is a 12-year-old orphan, Amel. The girl needs to leave her country, which is immersed in war. Along the way, she loses her family and is left all alone. Fortunately, she meets a young deserter who helps her survive the worst moments.
