"MY FAT ARSE AND I" AT CANNES

The animation “My Fat Arse and I” directed by Yelyzaveta Pysmak was included in the prestigues Cannes short film competition - Cinefondation.

Cannes Film Festival is one of the most important and prestigious film events in the world. Every year, the selection committee receives a record number of entries for individual sections. This year the festival will take place in an unusual way, some of the events will be online and the competition screenings will be shown during other film events taking place this year.

This year, another Polish animation has joined the honorable group of productions that will be competing for the Cannesian awards. - "My Fat Arse and I", which was qualified to the student film competition Cinefondation. The film will represent the National Film School in Łódź.

The animation by Yelyzaveta Pysmak tells the story of a girl who one day finds out that she has trouble fitting into her pants. The girl is shocked, in the mirror she sees her reflection as a huge fat pig. She decides to immediately undergo a strict diet. No sweets, sodas, just water with a little lemon. She is doing well, but all the joy of life comes out of her.

However, being unhealthy already emaciated, she still does not slow down. The girl now resembles a zombie who, not knowing what she is doing, drags into the fridge that haunts her in her dreams at night. During one of the fridge hauntings, an Angel of the West Ars Kingdom appears with a royal invitation to the ceremony.
