"ANOTHER DAY OF LIFE" AWARDED IN BUDAPEST
Damian Nenov and Raul de la Fuente's animation won another prestigious award. This time the film was selected the best feature length animation at Anilogue International Animation Festival.
Anilogue International Animation Festival is a real Hungarian celebration of animation. Each year the invited guests and the audience of the Budapest festival had a chance to see the most interesting films, meet outstanding animators, take part in workshops and panel discussions.
Three Polish short animations were invited to this year's program: "Incarnation" by Barbara Rupik, "Three Women on a Bench" by Karolina Borgiasz and "Fish Shop" by Maria Kulpa. In the feature length competition the audience could see the awarded film by Damian Nenov and Raul de la Fuente "Another Day of Life".
"Another Day of Life" is a gripping story of a three-month-long trip that renowned reporter Ryszard Kapuściński took across Angola ravaged by war, in which the front lines shifted like in a kaleidoscope from one day to the next. Just like the readers of the original book, the audience will begin their journey with Kapuściński in 1975 Luanda, the capital of Angola. The country is in the midst of decolonization efforts, launched by the success of the Carnation Revolution. Portuguese people are hurriedly fleeing the more glamorous districts of Luanda. Terrified by the possibility of a full-on attack on the capital, they're busy packing their belongings into wooden crates. Shops are closing down, law enforcement units are gradually disappearing from the streets, heaps of garbage bags are slowly taking over the Angolan capital. Kapuściński keeps sending daily cables from the emptying city to the Polish Press Agency. After some deliberations, he decides to set out on a journey to the front lines of the conflict. While almost losing his life he realizes that he's witnessing the events that do not allow him to remain simply an observer. Can a reporter conceal a sensational discovery for the greater cause?
