"KILL IT AND LEAVE THIS TOWN" AT THE FILM MARKET MARCHE DU FILM

The new animated film by Mariusz Wilczyński, "Kill it and leave this town," which is currently at the stage of production, will be shown at the film market Marché du Film within the frames of the programme New Horizons' Polish Days Goes to Cannes.

The Goes to Cannes is a programme where the biggest festivals are invited to present to the international film industry the films from their home countries, which do not have any sales agents, distributors or scheduled festival premières yet.

The T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival, together with Polish Film Institute, will present a selection of curated Polish films at various stages of production (works-in-progress) in the programme New Horizons' Polish Days Goes to Cannes. Among these films, there is the animated film by Mariusz Wilczyński, "Kill it and leave this town"

"Kill it and leave this town" is an autobiographical impression, reminiscence of the images from childhood, in which the memory of the deceased parents and the home city, Lodz, is brought to life. A team of talented animated film-makers is working on the film together with Wilczyński: Agata Gorządek, Jakub Wroński, Marta Pajek, Agnieszka Borowa, Marta Magnuska, Joanna Jasińska-Koronkiewicz, Paweł Walicki, Kacper Czyczyło, Agnieszka Konarska and Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi. The music for the film was composed by Tadeusz Nalepa.

Mariusz Wilczyński is a director of animated films, as well as a painter, performer and lecturer.

The closed screening of New Horizons' Polish Days Goes to Cannes is held on May 23,  from 10 a.m. to noon, in Palais K- level 4 in the Festival Palace, at the 70th International Film Festival in Cannes.
