TERRITORY

REPRESENTED BY KFF

Girl is kidnapped by her own body. In the labyrinth of her inner self, the girl must face the obsessions and desires of a person who is doomed to food — ever-present and painfully tempting. The film explores a toxic relationship with one's body. It shows the illness from an internal perspective, emphasizing confusion, loneliness, and of loss of control — emotions that are often invisible but deeply embedded in the everyday lives of people struggling with.

Barbara Synak »

Barbara Synak is a Warsaw-based animator and illustrator whose work blends graphic design, movement and psychology to creat deeply introspective visual stories. Having graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2025 and currently studying psychology, she believes that animation is a medium that can uniquely visualise the unspeakable, such as the flow of thoughts and feelings, and the oftenintangible textures of perception. Her short animation won the main prize in the Chaumont Biennale st dent competition in 2023.
